AI Is Taking Over Entry-Level Roles

AI’s impact on jobs is finally showing up in the data, and it is hitting younger workers the hardest. And that stings, because being young is already tough with high costs, fierce competition, and the pressure of social media. 😔

Stanford University researchers, analyzing payroll records from ADP, found that in industries most exposed to generative AI, such as customer service and software development, employment for workers aged 22 to 25 fell by 16%.

For older, more experienced employees in the same fields, job opportunities stayed steady or even grew.

The study suggests AI is chipping away at entry-level, repetitive work like writing simple code or handling routine queries, while creating demand for more advanced, oversight-driven roles.

Encouragingly, wages have not fallen, and some fields once thought at risk, like translation, have actually seen job growth.

The authors stress that the real challenge is not just job loss, but how to make AI work with people rather than replace them. They even suggest policy changes, like adjusting taxes so companies are not rewarded for replacing workers.

Bottom line: younger workers will need more than a degree. They need skills to work with AI, not against it. Platforms like Coursera and edX are a good place to start.

First Dates? Let AI Handle It 💕

Whitney Wolfe Herd, who founded the mega popular dating app Bumble, wants to save us all from “swipe exhaustion”.

Forget scrolling through endless vacation photos, her AI “concierge” gets to know you, your dating goals, your emotional baggage, and maybe even your favorite conspiracy theory about socks vanishing in the dryer.

But here’s where it gets wild: your AI actually chats with other people’s AI concierges, doing all the awkward “So... what do you do?” small talk for you. After the bots have gossiped and swapped secrets, you get a shortlist of three actual humans who may or may not already share your unhealthy obsession with cheese.

So less spam, less overwhelm, and maybe more quality connections? Or could the bots steal our thunder?

What’s your take?

Would you delegate your dating life to an AI concierge?

AI Around The World:

In the Netherlands, no-code website builder Framer has reached a $2B valuation after raising $100M. The platform lets users design full websites without coding and has grown past $50M in annual revenue. Its clients include well-known companies like Perplexity, Scale AI, and Miro.

In India, fintech startup TransBnk has raised $25M to modernize corporate banking. The startup runs a digital platform that connects businesses with banks, already processing 110M transactions a month. After growing revenue 12x to around $12M last year, TransBnk now plans to expand into Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

In Malaysia, chip design firm SkyeChip has unveiled the country’s first edge AI processor, the MARS1000. While not as powerful as Nvidia’s tech, it marks a major push for Malaysia in the global AI race. The announcement follows the creation of the National AI Office in 2024 and new trade rules requiring permits for US AI chip exports.
