Everyone’s Tired of Budgeting

For many adults in the UK, saving money doesn’t feel empowering anymore - it feels exhausting.

A new study from Cleo AI surveyed 5,000 adults aged 28 to 40; it found that most people in this age group are saving far less than they’d like. Rising living costs, flat wages and debt payments mean that even “doing the right things” often doesn’t lead to progress.

Instead of looking for clever investing tips, many are open to AI as a quiet assistant:

  • 64% of respondents trust AI to advise on how much money they can safely spend each month.

  • More than half would allow AI to move money automatically to avoid overdrafts or manage regular bill payments.

  • 37% say they struggle with impulse spending, and 80% feel they don’t fully understand their finances.

Age plays a role too: adults under 34 tend to save more and feel more comfortable experimenting with AI tools. Those over 35 are falling further behind - often just as costs linked to housing, children, and long-term debt start to pile up.

When money feels tight all the time, even small mistakes hurt. AI is helping some people avoid those mistakes and reduce some of the stress.

Degrees Aren’t Enough Anymore

In India, millions of graduates enter the workforce every year.

Yet hospitals, clinics, and hotels continue to struggle to hire staff who are ready to work on day one. Many young people are earning degrees - but graduating without the hands-on skills these roles actually require.

That gap is what Indian workforce-training startup Emversity is trying to address. This week, the company raised $30M in new funding, doubling its valuation to about $120M, as it scales training for jobs that still depend on people.

Emversity focuses on “grey-collar” roles (nurses, physiotherapists, lab technicians, and hospitality staff) where human presence remains essential even as software takes over paperwork and scheduling.

Here’s how it works:

  • Emversity works directly with employers like Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Healthcare, and Taj Hotels to design role-specific training that universities embed into their courses.

  • Students don’t just study theory. They train for specific jobs using simulation labs and real-world scenarios.

  • So far, about 4,500 learners have been trained, with 800 already placed into jobs.

Why this matters: AI can reduce administrative work, but it can’t stand at a hospital bedside, operate diagnostic equipment, or manage guests in a hotel. These roles still rely on human skill, judgment, and care.

Training people specifically for them helps close the gap between education and employment.

Tired of Losing? Let AI Fight for You 👊

Dark Souls, known as one of the most difficult video games ever. Video: Bandai Namco.

Most of us have been there: stuck on the same level, same boss, same impossible jump - controller in hand, patience gone. Video games are supposed to be fun, but sometimes they turn into a stress test.

That’s when you hand the controller to an older sibling or cousin and say, “You do it.”

Sony wants to turn that childhood ritual into a button. A newly surfaced patent describes a “Ghost Player” that can step in when you’re stuck.

Players could choose a Guide Mode, where the AI shows how to progress, or a Complete Mode, where it fully takes control and finishes the section (or even the whole game) on your behalf. 💪 Take that, villains.

Would you let AI beat the game for you? 🎮

AI Around The World

In Bhutan, the government is partnering with Canada to better understand how to use and regulate AI in public services. The training focuses on using AI safely, protecting citizens, and making sure new tech benefits rural communities and young people as well.

In Nigeria, lawmakers are set to pass a sweeping law to regulate AI. The bill would require higher-risk AI systems to undergo closer checks, set rules for fairness and transparency, and allow regulators to fine or restrict AI tools seen as unsafe.
