Google has released Gemini 3, and early results suggest it could be a game-changer in the AI race. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Gemini 3 shows noticeable improvements in reasoning, speed, and its ability to handle images and video, and outperformed competitors in key benchmarks.

  • But what makes this really huge is Google’s reach and infrastructure. With their own custom-designed AI chips and vast data resources, Google can now put Gemini 3 everywhere: in Search, YouTube, Android phones, Gmail, Docs, and more.

Tech leaders and the market reacted swiftly:

  • Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff posted, "I’ve used ChatGPT every day for 3 years. Just spent 2 hours on Gemini 3. I’m not going back… It feels like the world just changed, again."

  • A leaked memo shows CEO Sam Altman warning staff that Google poses a real challenge.

  • Nvidia stock fell today after leaks that Meta is exploring a major shift toward Google’s chips.

ps. Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway recently took a new $4B stake in Alphabet, its only new purchase last quarter — a rare endorsement from a famously cautious tech investor.

Meet Dorothea Koh, co-founder of Bot MD

Dorothea Koh.

Celebrating this week’s Woman in Tech 🥳: Meet Dorothea Koh, co-founder and CEO of Bot MD - an AI platform that puts a medical assistant in every doctor’s pocket.

Born and raised in Singapore, Dorothea studied Biomedical Engineering and Economics at Northwestern University. Her early career took her across hospitals in India, China, and the Philippines, where she watched exhausted doctors juggle outdated systems just to find a single answer.

In 2018, she decided to change that.

  • Dorothea founded Bot MD, a phone-based AI assistant that lets doctors pull up clinical protocols, drug information, schedules, and hospital systems in seconds.

  • What started with just 20 clinicians at Singapore’s National University Hospital quickly spread across Asia as word got out.

  • When the pandemic hit, Dorothea’s team expanded Bot MD to help monitor the vital signs of migrant workers isolated in dormitories.

  • Doctors received real-time alerts; patients got faster care; hospitals stayed afloat during the most overwhelming months of COVID-19.

Bot MD now operates across Southeast Asia - including Indonesia, where it partners with Siloam Hospitals and the Indonesian Medical Association - and supports doctors in multiple languages, including Bahasa Indonesia.

Today, it serves more than 20,000 clinicians and has impacted over 100,000 patients.

Wanna Bet on Events Like Elections?

A Kalshi billboard in New York during the mayor election.

Kalshi is a platform where people can bet on future events: elections, movie releases, breaking news, you name it.

The platform blew up after users collectively guessed major election outcomes correctly, including the recent Mamdani vs. Cuomo race in New York. Kalshi even went full Times Square marketing mode - they bought ad space on NYC subway cars and ran live prediction odds on little screens as commuters rode to work.

Because thousands of people place bets, the odds work like a live scoreboard for what the crowd believes will happen - and sometimes, they end up being more accurate than traditional polls.

But all this hype raises an important question: should people be betting on future events?

In Africa, the UAE is launching a $1 billion initiative to expand AI infrastructure and AI-enabled services across the continent, targeting sectors like education, healthcare, and climate adaptation. The move builds on the UAE’s growing investment footprint in Africa and aligns with its push to position itself as a major global player in AI.
