Sounds pretty cool to me 😎. While still in early development, this technology could reach the market within a year or two.

Transforming Education in Nigeria: From Chalkboards to Chatbots

In a pioneering initiative, Edo State, Nigeria piloted an AI-enhanced after-school program with remarkable results. The program, run in June-July 2024, engaged 800 first-year senior secondary students in bi-weekly English classes using computer labs.

Each session began with a teacher introducing the week's topic, followed by students interacting with Microsoft Copilot (powered by ChatGPT) on grammar and writing tasks.

Key Findings:

1. Learning Gains: Participants outperformed peers in English proficiency, AI knowledge, and digital skills, achieving higher end-of-year exam scores.

2. Gender Impact: The program proved particularly beneficial for girls, who initially lagged behind boys in performance, demonstrating AI's potential for educational equity.

• Teachers matter: Teachers played a crucial role in guiding students' interactions with the AI tool, starting each session with a suggested prompt and mentoring students throughout. The project has faced turbulence though, with recent crashes in Oregon causing Amazon to suspend its drone deliveries in Texas and Arizona while they work on software updates. Eeek 😲
